What Happened When We Didn’t Feed a Dog for Two Days

We live in a small village, and one day, a beautiful dog came near my house. I gave him some food, and he seemed to really enjoy it. This continued for a few days. However, after some time, I heard that this dog had been causing trouble, chasing and attacking chickens belonging to several villagers. People started to feel scared of him, and my family became concerned that the dog might be dangerous. They insisted that I stop feeding him. Though I understood their worries, I felt upset and emotional, as I had grown fond of the dog.

So, on Day 1, we all agreed not to let the dog come near our house anymore. It was hard for me because I was genuinely concerned about him.

On Day 2, he tried to come near again, and I felt emotional once more. But on Day 3, he wasn’t around. I became very worried and started searching for him but couldn’t find him. In the evening, I overheard two small kids passing by my house, gossiping about the dog. I quickly ran to the spot they were talking about. When I arrived, I found the dog lying there, his eyes closed. He was exhausted and helpless, clearly tired from not having been fed for the past two days. It broke my heart, and tears filled my eyes.

I went back home, grabbed some food, and returned to him. He ate it hungrily, and as I looked into his eyes, I could almost see tears there, too. It was as if he was trying to be angry with me, but I knew he was just so innocent. Despite the villagers’ objections to feeding him, I refused to listen to them. I knew he was harmless. From that day on, he would always be near my house, watching me like a child. I loved him, and he loved me back. He became my friend, someone who cared for me. I wouldn’t let anyone hurt him, and now, no one dares to accuse him falsely anymore.
